I use the MEC nylon/waterproof shoe covers for the last 9 years (when they were made by another company besides MEC). I love mine, they keep my feet dry in the Vancouver rain and now in the Ottawa rain/snow. I find they fit better than the neoprene ones.

I had to use my booties today and the brand is Serratus (this is a old brand MEC use to carry but not any more)

What brand?

I have asked my LBS about these many times... They couldn't locate a pair with GoreTex.

I was just about to move over the platforms!

They're called the Shimano MT90 (with Gore-Tex). I bought mine in Germany, i haven't seen them here but there are some european websites that will deliver here.

First two pages of Google show only places in the UK with them. Did you import them or bring them with me when you moved to SF Bay Area?

THANKS that is exactly what I want. No wonder my LBS hadn't heard of them. I'm shocked more of these aren't made!

I brought them with me. Careful, if you order a pair, the sizes run a bit small, so order one size larger than usual. For example, i normally wear 44, but mine are 45.

I forgot, there are a few more reasons why i like these shoes more than shoe covers:
1) I think they keep my feet drier because water can splash up thru shoe covers' cleat holes.
2) Shoe covers get dirty when you walk around. With these shoes you can ride, walk, ride walk, doesn't matter.
3) Gators are a lot faster and easier to put on than shoe covers.
4) Shoe covers wear out fast if you walk in them a lot.
5) I think shoes with gators just look a lot better than shoe covers. You look like a rock climber/adventurer!
