Collision photos

I got some photos of the damage caused by a recent collision I was involved in.

Since I'm sure you're all curious, it was a classic left hook. 100% driver fault.

I got an ambulance ride to get some x rays, but I'm basically fine now.

I think I can get away with replacing the fork, bars, and wheelset. The frame and drivetrain appear to be fine.

Glad you're ok. Looks like you were going pretty fast to bend the handlebars like that. Did you file a claim against the driver's insurance to reimburse your medical expenses and bike damage? Maybe you can get a whole bike outta the deal.

Yeah there's no point in risking it with frame damage that's not readily apparent. Go for the jugular and get the whole bike replaced.

I'm in contact with the insurance guy. I am not sure what will come of it yet, but I am optimistic.

I've had the bike looked at by my LBS, whom I trust. They say the frame is ok. When I said "think I can get away with", I didn't mean to suggest that it's of questionable safety. It's a steel frame, so I'm not as worried about hidden damage as if it were Al.
