Anyway, the beam pattern on the cygolight is something like a target, bright center, then dark area, then bright outer ring. I'd compare it to the NR beam pattern of my digital evolution, but way brighter and a bit wider.
They package them with different things included when they sell them.

The smart charger is still around. My friend bought the NiCad model with no smart charger, because it was cheaper. It probably would have been better to spend a little more and get the NiMh and a smart charger.

Try www.aebike.com for some good deals on lights. I purchsed both sets of Sigma Sports lights. They come with two lights, battery, handle bar mount, helmet mount and a back up light. Great deal!!

You might also look at this, I've got one and it's really durable, super-bright, very large (3 inch diameter), comes with a replacable xenon bulb, comes in amber, red, or clear, and is only about $25.

But you have to have a 12-volt homebuilt system to use it, unless you can convert 6V to 12V.

Another good reason to build your own 12-volt system is the brightness of the halogen bulbs you can support. I recently ordered an "energy-saver" bulb from bulbs.com that draws 35 watts, but produces light equivalent to 50 watts. We'll let you know how it works.
