first fall
sent the following as email to a couple buddies...
So I'm cruising along to work, minding my own business, enjoying the crisp air,
the crunch of snow under my tires & the sun in my face when I - through
instinct alone - miraculously recovered from veering off the path, then getting
caught on the edge when returning to the path - you know when your front tire
hops up but the rear doesn't & just slides along totally throwing you off
balance? Well somehow with one dab and a bit of a sideways skid I recovered,
replaced my ass on the seat and rode on thinkin' to myself: "ha, stoopid snow
ain't got nothin' on you boy!" when I veered off the other side of the
path, hung up both tires in a rut and spread my bike and self all over the
place. I bruised my ego more than anything else & left a mysterious imprint in
the snow. I hope visitors to fort snelling this morning see my spot and wonder
WTF happened to that guy...

Don't you just hate that. I posted my first fall story just yesterday (It had to happen...first stack!) But with the heat we are having, I couldn't blame it on the snow. Just taking a corner on a path too fast and not tracking in the middle.
Now that that's out of the way...

Can't remember the last time I bled from a bike crash. Though my wife noticed a bruise on my hind end last night; does misplaced blood count, even if it don't come through the skin?
