Northwest alternative to lighted arm band

NW Citysports Magazine just reviewed a Northwest company that makes illuminated cycling apparel. Their jackets won the Brandnew award for Sportswear at ISPO. Yes it is my company so I am "invested in the design".

Even John "TV Boy" Curley wore won on Evening Magazine recently.

Interesting.

I like your choice of dryskin extreme for the softshell, and i might of even been interested, but why black or dark blue as the only 2 color choices? Seems counter productive to make a visibility jacket only available in the darkest colors possible.

yes. dark colored cycling jackets are about as bright an idea as a burnt out lightbulb, regardless of other other illumination/reflectivity features.

dark colours

We decided to use colours that people would actually wear. In the absence of light the colour of your jacket means squat. In the case of our softshell jackets, they were not conceived as pure cycling jackets, rather more for general use. The pics on our site don't reflect the use of a lot of reflective accents but the new jackets actually are loaded with reflective.

In terms of efficacy of colour, we have a number of police departments now testing the jackets for their bike patrols. Visibility is an issue for them, and yet they did not specify hi-vis fabric colours...rather all have chosen to test our charcoal version.
