Dude, I'm a muffin short of an entire breakfast on some days. I get to ride mostly through neighborhoods so I usually get in a comfy gear, have a drink in the left hand, and something I don't mind dropping (or latching on to with my teeth) in my right hand.

Of course, I crashed in a pile of leaves (conveniently strewn across the street 2-3 inches deep) the other day with both hands on the handlebars, so maybe this isn't the greatest idea. Who knows...maybe if I hadn't been holding on...

I almost forgot! As a result of my crash one of the cages is now ready to accept larger size bottles, so my coffee travel mug will fit! Woo!

I tried this once. Had a stiff neck the rest of the day. I was using a standard yuppie type vacume insulated coffee mug. You need a very upright ride to pull it off. My bars are the same height as the saddle. No can do on the sipping coffee manuver.

Yep. that is exactly my routine. My pre-ride warm-up starts with one of these machines.

In the summer, I'll roll out early on a Sunday morning and grab a latte from one of the local dealers. Held in the left hand, I can brake with my right hand. I can't stand and sprint, but it's business as usual other than that.

I was thinking about a trike recently. How heavy is it, and how well do you climb on it?

Oh, this thread is about coffee! Is it easy to drink coffee since balance is not such an issue?

While I was joking, on some levels it is. I've known benzydrine addicts that were as functional as coffee addicts. I don't know if this comments more on benzydrine or coffee, heh.

I just figure if you need (or think you need) something to kickstart the old noggin, might as well make it good and strong!

I know I could never manage riding one handed let alone drinking coffee as I was riding. But I do have a zefal water bottle that also can handle hot liquids. On cold mornings I load it up with coffee or black tea. It keeps it warm for about a hour depending how cold it is outside. I usualy stop at a intersection or something and have a few gulps and am on my way, since its in a water bottle i dont get weird looks, just have to be careful if its too hot.

Not at all, as long as you know what you're doing! oh, and you can't sue 'em when you burn yourself.
I often cruise with one on those not-so-fresh days when a little cheap recharge is needed.

Are you saying that my daily Benzedrine might be a problem?

Side note: Back in my younger days, I tried cocaine on three different occasions and each time I fell fast asleep. I guess my body metabolizes it differently than most.

Hezck no. My daily commute starts with a large French roast from Java Beach. I love passing the "serious bikers" huffing up Lawton (street with a big hill) with a hot cup in one hand, and jeans on my legs.
