Kinda Bummed...

My car has been sitting in my backyard awaiting repairs. (waiting for me to save money for said repairs)
-new clutch, flywheel, radiator and 2 axels.

Now I have my car back- which is great in alot of ways. I can take my mountain bike to trails I don't have time to ride to, etc.

But my motivation to just get out the door in the morning is gonna take a serious hit.
I'm really hoping, and counting on, that my nostalgia for having my car back will pass quickly and my joy of early morning/late afternoon rides to and from work will resurface. I certainly know that this next part is like preaching to the choir- but I feel SO much more alive when I ride into work rather than drive. It's an obvious reaction we all know.

Another good thing about having my trusty 93 civic back is- now I can get to the trail system that is just a bit too far away to ride to, ride a lap or two and ride back during my lunch break.

lol it happens. That's why I drive to work at least one day of the weekday. It's so nice to stepinto the car and turn on the radio and listen to a good song, or go radio hopping looking for a good station.

Definitely agree on you with the feeling alive too

if feel your pain. I had to have put in a new radiator and a new steering oil pump (?) a few months after putting a new water pump in. I'm not really mechanically inclined or armed enough to do the repairs for myself. Cost a pretty little fortune.

Don't feel too bad. I put $350 into a new exhaust system (the old one was pretty much rusted through) on my previous car, and two weeks later another driver made an illegal turn and smashed into me while I went through an intersection.

The car was totaled and Allstate sent me a check, but I'm still pissed, especially since it was a non-critical repair. At least you can experience the benefits of money "well spent."
