I'm sure the picture will change soon, so if it isn't a picture of a guy with a commuter bike at a gas station, please ignore...

edit: "us" = someone on bikeforums

I think we need to reinforce the words "handsome" and "bike" as often as possible.

You sometimes make little sense.

It's lightly raining btw.

The guy in the pic isn't using anything to keep his pant leg tight...I see disaster in the future.

I think he's a gas jockey, and it looks like he's trying to figure out where the gas cap is.

I think there are some kick-stand lovers in this group! Probably the long tourers, though.

1) Me! Me! I love kickstands!

2) Idea from the pic: hang out on your bike "adjusting the things in your pack" near a gas station and be visible to drivers (without crossing the fine line into loitering). Low-key advocacy. Hmmm. Or figure out how to distribute city-published bike maps on the sly near gas stations, or to drivers waiting in dead-stop urban gridlock. Nothing too evangelical, just a simple "Want a bike map? It's free. Ta-ta."

Talking smack about kickstands, eh? I-Like-To-Bike posting in 5...4...3...2...

I'm not sure what the image of the dude with the bike has to do with the article other than to show that it must be REALLY BAD if people are *gasp* actually starting to ride BIKES for transportation. Oh, the horror!

So now we discriminate against those with kickstands?

Way to advocate !!

I just ordered a kickstand last week, I don't like leaning my bike against things.

I had a co-worker see me coming in on my bike last week and remarked "there's someone who isn't paying 3 bucks a gallon." I expect that will be the prevailing thought of most people seeing cyclist this summer season, it's not really bad IMO.

Commute by bike or not, high fuel prices will affect the cost of everything you buy.

Gas Jockey? That station would need to charge $6 per gallon!

Gas will be $6 a gallon by the end of the year. Maybe the end of next year, but soon.

Bunch of hype and market speculation.
