Best Clothes for rain and winter
Hi,
I have ride to work with riding clothes then shower and change into my work clothes.
What is the best riding clothes for the wet? *usually winter
If it is summer no problem but winter is tougher
I usually wear thermal underwear as my undergarment and something on top. I have a good sailing jacket /windbreaker but what about pants? What is the quickest drying pants I could get *I would ride in and get them soaked, then hang them up for 9 hours whilst I work then ride home, and continue the cycle, pardon the pun
thank you

Do a search of the commuting forum or check out the Winter Cycling forum. Tons of info available.

Really depends on what temperature your talking about ? Florida rain in winter and Seattle rain in winter would require diff clothes.

The cheapest pair I have and like are the Red Ledge set I got from Campmor. They are about $40 and work very well. I also have a pair of Pearl Izumi rain pants which are very nice, but not cheap. I also love my Red Ledge rain jacket and rode in it much of the winter since it was so comfortable.
Temperature regulation is a matter of light layers under the jacket and pants. I usually wore light long underwear under my rain or wind pants in winter (depending upon conditions) and then a long sleeve wicking T-shirt and a short sleeve T on top. If it was really cold I might add another T or even a light poly fleece pullover. Of course a balaclava or light hat is also essential in winter. With the layers you can stop and shed a layer if it really gets too warm.
