I'm getting a new bike! What do you think?
So I've been riding this old beatup MB for close to 2 years now. It's old and ugly looking and great because no one will ever want to steal it. But it's also half broken (only 1 of the 3 gears in the front cog works) and it's sooo freaking heavy. That's really bad because I'm really light. Why I haven't fixed it up you don't even want to know... but in a nutshell I'm very mechanically challenged and would need someone to actually be there and show me in person how to fix/maintain a bike to learn. I'll probably have to figure out how to get those lessons once I get a real bike.
Anyway, I'm digressing. I've decided that a flat-bar road bike would be the right bike for me because of its versatility and adaptability to my riding habits. Yesterday I found an 03 model of the Fuji Silhouette (https://tinyurl.com/l49cs) at a bike shop. They have a handful of those models there for $400. The original MSRP is $659. Personally I think that it's still kinda priced a little high for being an 03 model. What does everyone think? I'm not very good at negotiating... so any tips would be appreciated.

$400 - it's a 2003 model, but the components and frame are largely the same as what you would get on a 2006 Absolute 3.0 for $789. Actually, I prefer the parts on the '03 bike. Yah, I'd pick that up for $400. I might throw in an offer of $375, but it is a pretty decent deal in my book.
