Changing pedal stroke length

For those of you who ride clipless, this might not be important.

But once again I was reminded of how I have to adjust my bicycle to make my pedal stroke length longer after buying new shoes. It seems that my stroke got shorter when I changed shoes.

Might not seem like a big deal, but I had to adjust my recumbent quite a bit. I was really having to pull my knees in much closer and I felt it in some sore muscles I don't usually use. Now that I adjusted it, I'm right back with the same position I had before.

This was also true on my old upright diamond frame bike. I had to adjust the seat height ever so slightly sometimes when I got new shoes.
