So all the pro road racers should be wearing.... what?

Your punishment for posting such a stupid comment should be to ride a double century in baggies... or whatever the hell it is you wear. Cut-offs? I don't care... just do it and report back to us.

(No idea, of course, but we're not going to have a discussion about the aesthetics of spandex without invoking MilliVanilli).

My punishment is to wear spandex. Didn't say it wasn't comfortable. Didn't say it wasn't fast. Didn't say it wasn't cool. Just said it looks bad. I regularly subject my co-workers to my skinny *** walking in the office in spandex.

"Girl you know it's true...ooooh, oooh, ooooh....I love yooou....."

Sorry, what was the OP again?

i did 190 the other week in baggies... followed by a hundred the next day... and a buck ten the day after.

is that acceptable punishment? cause it was fun!

IMHO: fat or skinny; cover your junk... baggies make us all look good!

Why the heck would I need to "look good"? I'm already married. It's not like I'm looking for a mistress.

Other sports wear tight clothing. Why not us?
It's not like riding a bike is akin to a fashion show for me.

I witnessed a very hefty guy take off from Huntington Beach on the west coast heading for Ney York City on the east coast. It took him sixty nine days. So What? A land mine in 'Nam had taken off both legs at mid-thigh and he did his ride with rotary hand cranks. Don't know how much weight he lost during the ride, if any. This man also walked across the US, yes on his hands. It took him a year. Weight will not stop the motivated. If you get an urge to say something rude, crude and offensive to a large person just Zip It.

Yes, because we're not allowed to express our opinion in this country.

It's ok... she's not reading bikeforums, you don't have to say that.

DataJunkie - if you sound like a Howler Monkey - well, I would love to hear you scream at a person in your way! (of course a true howler throws things - do you know what?)

Yet, strangely enough, she is the one who likes me in cycling clothing. My god I'm an obnoxious bastard!

I'm 'larger', and I exercise. I gotta think that using someone else's insulting attitude as a reason/excuse for NOT exercising would be nearly as lame as the insult, itself.

Last time someone made a comment about me in spandex, my riding budy said, "Watch it, kid - you're slow, he's not, and he's eaten sandwiches bigger than you."

Cuz when ya look good, ya get treated better - whether the Mrs is there to "enforce" or not. Plain and simple.

I make fun of anyone wearing spandex, not just the fatties. Just like they make fun of me for being a fred who wears sandles on my platforms. You need to work on growing a thicker skin, especially if you let something someone said on an internet forum affect you so much.

No, only NYer's of Asian descent are not allowed to express their opinions...and skinny blonde conservative bimbos.

I've always been a mountain and always will be. Most people don't bother me. Most are probably afraid of me. But sometimes people make quips or remarks. For some reason it's usually dapper little old men. But I don't pay them no nevermind. I'd bike mother naked if I had my druthers. Or if my druthers weren't illegal.
