Seriously TICKED OFF....

At MYSELF!!!

I get up this morning (slept in 'til almost 10am ) and i look out the window and see cloudy skies and rain. It rained pretty hard all night, and all I could think was, "will it clear up for a nice ride to work?" By the 11:30 rolls around I am thinking, it still hasn't cleared up, and my knee still has a slight twinge. I'll drive today. Normally I would ride even with a twinge, but the gloomy weather gives me that extra excuse for driving to let me knee rest up for a few more days.

What happens? On the way to work (in my car), the skies start to clear, and the temp is 65F. The roads are driy, and the wind is calm.

All I could do was b!tch at myself the whole way to work. I knew I shoulda rode.

Now, I'm in my office, wound up with energy, and nowhere to put it. I'll have to do some serious push-ups or something, when everyone leaves. Maybe some squats and curl some bricks we have in the back room. Well, at least I have my mocha to sip and keep me happy in the meantime.

Less mocha and maybe you won't be wired up so tight on days you don't ride. I wish it was only 65F when I got ready to go out the door this morning. Temps were already pushing 80 by 7am. I'll probably be over 100 when I leave. However, I can't complain about that as I'm not commuting just yet. The new commuter bike is still being overhauled and waiting for parts to arrive.

So look on the bright side - you have tomorrow's commute to look forward to!

Dude, check the radar maps on weather.com or accuweather.com and this will never happen again.

Ha, in the Mid-West the weather can change dramatically in a matter of minutes.

Patriot, you don't have to be at work until Noon? Dang, you have it good!

Patriot,

I thought I remembered you starting a thread about putting fenders on your commuter.

Get out there and use them!

I never pay attention to the weather, or the weather reports, anymore. If it's good enough to drive, it's good enough to ride, and riding is always more fun than driving, even in 40 MPH headwinds and a thunderstorm.
If it's hailing or tornadoes, I won't ride, but I won't drive either.

A day of rainy cycling is better than a sunny drive in a car!
