Live within 10 miles of the office with a safe bicycle route? Bike to work every once in a while. Depending on rush hour, it might not take you that much more time than driving does. Given that you won't have to drive to the fitness club for a workout later, you might even save yourself time. (And if co-workers complain about your sweaty clothes, just question their patriotism -- it works for politicians.)

I know cross-posting is frowned upon, but I think they ought to know about this over in Advocacy & Safety, too. Mostly all we hear about there are the bad columns.

My mess bag will carry a case. I haven't figured out a way to transport the chips and pretzels w/o using panniers.

There was another thread where the guys on ESPN's Cold Pizza said something about cycling not being a sport. I wonder if Jim Caple would ever go on the show to argue that.
