First Day Back!

They caught the "Serial Shooter" here in Phoenix this weekend and I'm back to communiting with my bicycle. It was GREAT! It was relatively cool this morning and the cars left me alone. My commute is only 2 miles (wish it was longer). It's wonderful to be out of the car again!

The murder rate in Philly had gotten pretty insane. You'd probably only be able to ride for a couple of minutes if you stopped whenever someone got shot...

There's a difference between a bunch of people w/ beefs shooting at each other and a sniper targeting complete strangers. Glad to hear you're back OP!

You stopped riding because of some wacko? Dude, you gotta take life less seriously.

Hope you don't have any more problems.

I'm not certain that people outside of the Phoenix area fully appreciate the fear that Hausner and Dieteman (allegedly) visited upon the Valley. From inside their cage, they were targeting bicyclists and pedestrians with a small-gauge shotgun. Many died. Many more were injured, mostly on the left side of their bodies as they rode with traffic. If you're not petrified by such a possibility, you're braver than I.

I think we're all breathing easier today and pray there aren't any copycats.

Right. It wasn't just a random looney. He was targetting cyclists. Weird.

Describes half the motorists around here. I'm dead serious, I would not let these folks affect the way I conduct my life. If your time is up, it's up, hiding from potential danger will not change that. Think of the old t-shirt with the mouse flipping off the eagle that is just about to eat him...the last great act of defiance.

The shooters were not targeting cyclists. they shot peds too. they were targeting people out alone late at night and homeless people. if you were not out after 10 pm, you were not at risk. and keep in mind these guys have only been arrested, not convicted. just sayin'.

Uh, I need to commute at night. These monsters were targeting bicyclists and pedestrians, and shot about two dozen of them from their car. Just another day in urban America, huh?
