First Commute

So I finally decided to ride my bicycle to work today. Turned out to be a pretty nice ride. From my front door to my work in just under 45 minutes. The route I took I don't know the mileage, but I would guess around 13 miles or so. Usually takes about 25 to 30 in traffic in the car, so I was pretty happy w/ the ride. On top of that I got to ride and enjoy myself, instead of the usual cussing, being or cutting folks off and hitting my steering wheel like Samir in Office Space...

If I could commute daily, I truly think I would.

Welcome to the Happy Healthy Commuting MotherF*ckers (HHCMF) club! We're a happy-go-lucky bunch because we're happy that we get lucky so often! The logic is: save money on gas, lose weight and get in shape, become more attractive, get lucky! It's a simple formula so really, the benefits of commuting by bike outweigh all other commuting options.

I would commute daily, but the kiddo doesn't want to ride on the handle bars everyday... And that really isn't the issue either, seeing as she could ride herself (she is 7), but between her school schedule, my work schedule etc... I don't have enough time to ride everyday to make it to work on time or pick her up on time.

That's too bad that you can't do it everyday, but it is great that you've given bike commuting a try and enjoyed it. Hopefully you'll be able to do it at least some of the time I found that the more I did it and got comfortable with it, the more I enjoyed it!
