Latvia? Are BMWs considered status symbols there? I swear, no matter where you are, status symbol drivers are the worst... they purchased the vehicle to gain attention in the first place.

New ones are as they are everywhere, but the older ones still seems to be driven by pricks.

The BMW E30 produced from1982 to 1990 was a classic.

How sure are you on that? They often have smaller engined cars available in Europe than America.

I'm fairly certain...the only BMW models that end in 1 are the Z1, M1, 321, and the 501. All of which can be found in the BMW Museum, in a very wealthy collectors garage, or on a concourse. Not exactly your grocery getters. Plus, the 321 and the 501 were models before there was an "i" designation for injection.

That being said...there was/is a 520i

Nice! I almost stomped in a hood of a Honda that decided to cut around a vehicle that had stopped for me to cross at an intersection. But my inner Zen caught me before I could put my size 12 down on his hood.

But BMWs are the German cars without the German quality. So the fine German engineering has already been left out.
Ah so true and so funny. Just check the reliability rating on those suckers. Junk, pure, expensive, fast, junk.

Ah, Front Spikes, a usefull addition to any good commuter bike Much easier to aim than Rear Spikes, but a full set offers the best coverage, of course!

Ohhhh....that must be why Kelly Blue Book said this:

"Kelley Blue Book, which awards vehicles projected to have the best resale value after five years of ownership, has both BMW and Nissan leading the way once again with two models each—the BMW 5-Series and BMW-built MINI Cooper, as well as the Nissan-built Infiniti G35 Coupe and Infiniti M45." -From MSN Autos

They're called taxi's in most of Europe. I told that to a guy I work with when he was telling me how cool his 3 series was. To bad my VW GTI is quicker.

This says nothing of reliability. Just what a majority of schmucks is willing to pay.

For comparison, I have my 1995 Mazda Miata, yes it is 11 years old. To compare with an 11 year old BMW. Let's see who wins...

For your sake...I'm glad you chose the first year the Miata didn't have any yellow or red marks.
You could have saved yourself even more money and gone this route and gotten the same level of reliablity:
https://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Re...etro&trimid=-1

So you just up and pick some random year because you own a 1995.
Well, my how about a 2002 3-Series BMW which my g/f owns?
https://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Re...ries&trimid=-1

woops!

Typo-- 520i- and it is probably quite different that a BMW exported to the US. They are just ordinary cars here. This is a station wagon with a 5 speed transmission, 6 cylinder engine. Some police in London drive BMWs. The police wagons here are by Mercedes. I don't care for Opals (GM) or the German Fords, although the new Mondeos look quite nice. Toyotas cost a fortune, Nissans and Hondas are much fewer, and I rarely see Korean cars. Plenty of Skodas, Alfa Romeos, Renaults, Peugots.... but mostly Mercedes, Bmw, Audi/VW.
