It looks much nicer than most of the commutes around Atlanta.

It looks like Australia is a lot more bicycle-friendly than most places in the US.
I have never seen bike lockers, "uncongested" bikeways, and light traffic like you have.

No. We ride on the left too. The guys in the photo were on the right trying to avoid a large cyclist in their lane taking photos of the cycleway.

Thanks for the pics! Is there a charge for using the bike lockers?

How did you go about getting those bike lockers, did your local council install them? I was just thinking of my new commute that I'll start next week (probably). Seems a few others probably ride to work in Southport, too. Maybe we could use a few of these.

The lockers are free to use and are provided by the state government.

Here's a few more details on the lockers and other bike parking facilities around Perth.

We had a similar program like that in Chicago at some of the north side train stations, however they had to put an end to it, as a lot of the homeless people began using the lockers as a place to store their stuff, so it ended pretty quickly.

I took a slight detour on my commute today. By going around 300 metres further I get scenery like this.

Great pics! I live in the "Land of 10,000 lakes" so I have simular views, we also have a nice network of paved trails, bike lanes and nice back roads. We have bike lockers also but they charge by the month. They are found variious spots in downtown Minneapolis and at many of the Park and Rides (bus stops) in the suburbs. Thanks for sharing.

Gee Rodney, I'd be taking that detour every day.

I don't know about every day, but I'll certainly be taking it a lot more often.

Funny how we can often forget that making small changes can change the colour of our day.
