Yeah it was good meeting you! Funny I recognized you because of the bike... I hadn't realized this thread was still going strong (I remember reading the initial review/post). I'll ride over when I need to return the movies :-)

Yeah, it was nice puting a face to a screen name. Do bring your ride in the store. I let all riders bring them in so nothing we'll happen to your ride. My wife works at a blockbuster as well. One day a guy road his bike up to her store and locked it up outside. After he got his movies he went out and found his bike was missing both wheels and the handlebars. He called the cops and they did nothing. So I never leave my bike outside any where.
The Denali road fine to work and back and for a fun ride yesterday. Did have to clean out the rear derailer again due to the sand in it. Other then that it still running strong.

Yeap, looked at that too. But if I was to use a presta tube, I'd just solder the hole shut and drill a new hole. But thanks for pointing that out for others.
Now I have 1162.2 miles on the Denali. I was tired when I got off tonight and had a headwind of 12 mph. Man with being tired and a headwind you really feel the 30 lbs. the Denali has. Other than that The ride was flawless. I checked the tires for wear. The Kwest are holding up nicely. With just a little more wear on the back wheel compared to the front.

Nothing to report the last two days. It's in the 70's and the Denali is running just fine. Even with a headwind of 12 mph I can hold a 18 mph average speed on the Denali.

Bikes: It's the motor, not the bike, right?
Anybody know how much the Denali frame weighs by itself?

I'll send Kent Bicycle a E-mail and ask them if they know how much the frame and forks weighs.

Dittos on the excellent post. A co-worker first informed me of the Denali Bicycle sometime late November and now we are following this thread. I am mostly a trail rider, Marin/Motobecane/Trek, but I wanted a commuter bicycle. At $99 dollars with free shipping from Amazon, I wonder where the value/quality ratio falls now?
I ordered the Red 19" frame. I can't say I will be as informative, but I will try and post the specifications when I receive the bike. As a side note: there are three sizes to choose from and I am curious to see if there are any differences between each.

Chico, please do add you to this post or start a new one.
When I looked that the Denali I as looking at eighter the Blue 57mm frame (22.5") or the 62mm (25") Black frame. I'm 6' 2" and could go with eighter. I went with the 57mm frame because it would give me better top speed. For a 6" 2" person a 58mm to 62mm frame is needed. If you race you want the smallest frame for higher speeds and the 62mm for commuting or 60mm for some where in the middle. For me it's all about speed.

Ok guys had a very nice ride to work yesterday. I had a 24 mph average speed to work on the Denali yesterday. I had a tailwind of 3mph, that's what Weather.com said. But I think it was a bit more.
The Denail is still riding fine.

Yesterday it rain a little on the commute. Had to clean out the rear derialer, got sand and water all over it and the shifting was not the best. Now that it's dry and clean of sand, it's back to shafting right.
Also I noticed that the break hood covers are cracking. So I would have to replace them if I was not going to change them out for the break/shifters after the test. The handlebar tape keeps moving and I have to rerape them again. For the 3rd time. I'm going to put doulbe sided tape under the handlebar tape to help hold it in place.
Other then that the Denali is riding just fine. So far I put 1234.9 miles on it. With no major fixes needed, just a few adjustments.
I have 29 days left on the Wal-Mart 90 day return. going by my milage so far I should be able to get 1853 miles on it by the end of the test/return date. Then I'll start upgrading it with the 53/39 chainring, break/shifters lighter one piece handlebars and lighter faster hubs. Also thinking of upgrading to a 9 or 10 speed.

Amazon has it for $90.
Doesn't include the outstanding exchange policy but a good price.

At the time I bought the Denali Amazon and Wal-Mart prices where the same. So I went with the Wal-Mart because of the exchange policy of Wal-Mart. But if it was only 90.00 at Amazon I would have gone with Amazon.
Had a nice ride home last night in the fog. I did relobe the chain today.

Now I have 1281.4 miles on the Denali. And all is still good with it. I did have to readjust the rear derailer this morning before the commute. Just a little adjustment, I needed to put a turn on the cable tension nut. Other then that all is good.

Ditto on my Walmart Schwinn, 1525.5 miles on it, other than a cable adjustment and basic lubing of the parts, not a single problem. Not even a single flat. Great commuting and touring bicycles in my opinion.

Thanks alot cig for the review, I was about to jump on the 90 dollar deal on amazon but they changed the price back to 140 arggg. Anyway i own a "nice bike" that i bought from a LBS and yes i believe that if you are starting out an LBS is the way to go, but man if im going to Vons or somewhere nearby i would not want to bring "Brianna". If i have to lock something up with the risk of it being stolen then i think a 150 dollar bike is a solution.

Vrkelley, I thought that this tread would peck the intrest of some of the people on this forum. But then again I thought I be ran off for this review. But as long as people keep reading the post will go on for the 2000 miles test.
I have 1322.9 miles on the Denali so far. I can't wait to start upgrading the Denali. It is still running fine but I won't to make it lighter and fast.

I am getting my denali XL today.
It costed me $325.00 us landed at my home.
In my country, the import taxes are extremely high so i can't afford the more high end road bikes.
I will only be riding on the weekends for 30 to 50 per week.
I will take it to a bike shop for assembly and tuning.
I will also change the tires.
I am looking foward sharing my experiences using this bike.
