For me recovery is spelled FOOD. With enough food - I am okay. You can still lose weight if you need, just don't try to lose too much per week.

yeah it depends what your in it for...
i will say again though; if your looking to get stronger and make the commute easier (eventually) your gonna have to push yourself beyond what is comfortable sometimes.
for me this used to happen all spring when i was forced to ride my singlespeed into a nasty headwind almost daily on the way home, or when i satrted riding my big hill everyday as opposed to only riding it every other day. in fact, i will go so far as to say it downright sucked at times!
but now i no longer feel the pain, bring the wind, bring the hills, nothing between work and home can stop me... now i go out on weekends and tackle even bigger stuff to remember what that sweet feeling of pain was like
