I'm off this week, but have errands to run today. I'll probably be back home and warm before the major stuff hits. On my way out the door here in about 10 minutes.
|
Yeah, it's messy out there. There wasn't any snow sticking yet when I left, but several of the streets I normally ride on still had packed snow and ice, and the majority of the sidewalks weren't clear.
By the time I got back, there was a half inch of slush on the roads. :) |
Nothing up here yet. Just a couple sprinkles.

It has been dumping like mad down in the tech center. As long as it does not overwhelm downtown.....
I use the light rail down here and the bus to get north of downtown. *crosses fingers* |

I am missing a section for my all road route from Thornton to the DTC. That and I need to connect another part of my route with streets to avoid the cherry creek trail. Next week! Last year I was all excited to ride in snow and ice. Now it has more of a "been there done that" appeal to it. Rain, wind, while it is snowing, thunder, and a few other items are just fine. Ice and excessive amounts of snow bug me. lucky me...i only do a 6 mile round trip commute. i rode in today and will have fun riding home in the snow. i rode in the last blizzard too, but this time i brought my goggles! wish me luck! |
5 days a week in summer. 4 days in winter.
It really is not that bad. 28 miles each way. I halve the distance one way by using a bus. Hopefully, next summer I can ride the entire thing round trip. Hence my new road bike build. The distance is another reason I am not thrilled to ride in snow or ice. Bad weather can make that commute horrible. Occasionally it is a nice challenge. Good luck on the commute! It was amusing walking the 1 mile from the gym to my house. Strangely enough, the weather is much more enjoyable while walking. No worries trying to keep my bike upright or the car straight. Plus my sidewalk is offset from the street. The joys of walking! I wonder if they have a walking forum? :p j/k I could just purchase a decent snowbike. Cyccommute's post of his winter bike in the winter forum almost has inspired me....almost :p |

Yeah, things look a lot better than after the last storm... then again, we got almost 8" more snow(here right at the edge of Golden) in the same amount of time last week. |
