Bikes: the ever shifting stable loaded with comfortable road bikes and city and winter bikes
I drove to work one day in 2006 and never drove to the grocery store, so I guess there's a little room for improvement?
I resolve to ride safer, use the happy wave at angry, roadraging drivers more often and not be as harsh to idiots behind the wheel. I resolve to leave the house earlier so I can ride extra distance on my commute into work and still show up on time.
I also am going to volunteer for more bike events, as well as special olympics.

I drove way too many times last year. Maybe once a month.
Anyhow, the only way I intend to drive is if I am layed off and need to pick up my stuff. This is a bit of a half arsed resolution related to bikes. I intend to use our light rail as an alternative.
Some goals:
I plan on dropping into the 150s (weight wise)
Increase my upper body's fitness level at the gym. (I know. Not cycling related.)
Ride quite a few new routes in the mountains.
Cycle my first century.
Bike up and down summit road.
You would think I could post a commuting resolution.
Um......?
I vow to stop at work and not keep going. That and no exploring when it is foggy. 10 mile detours are annoying.

Hello all
Mime is to ride 3000 miles this year. And to help everyone that is having bike problems be it on the street
or bikeway. Also to lose the last 10 pounds to get down to 170 from my starting weight of 240,a year
ago. Also to send in my app, to be a trial guardan, they ride the bikeways, help people with bike
problems, they also have to know first-aid and CPR. I missed communting 5 days last year, and want to cut that down to 1-2 this year. May you all have a safe New Years.

I made (even exceeded) my bike resolutions for last year: 1) ride a century - did 3!; 2) go car-free - since May; 3) do a bike tour - sadly, just a 4-day trip I cut to an overnighter.
For this year:
1) Break the 4000 mile mark - shouldn't be hard; I did 3800 last year and without the car a full year...
2) Do at least 500 miles of local bike touring - can be broken into a few trips, but must include an overnight camping stay.
3) Break my fear of biking downtown Seattle - it's probably a reasonable fear, but fewer bus rides to go shopping downtown means more ride miles and less flab!

Happy New Year!
My main resolution is to be more patient and control my anger - ie. not react when frustrated with the kids. This also can carry over to dealing with traffic. I want to help give cyclists a better rep. with car drivers.
Other things I plan or would like to do:
MS150 in April (already signed up, need to raise $500)
Fewer, if any, car days on the commute
run more errands on the bike
Volunteer at yellow Bike at least one day a month
Good luck to everyone!

Mine is to get back on it and really start riding again. I need to lose a bit of this weight I picked up over the holidays. I also plan to go back to eating a more healthy diet. I'm not going to do the one week gym thing. I also not going to miss commuting days. I've got no excuse now. I have the gear, the fenders, and the bike soon.

Same as every other year - make it to the next year in one piece.

Last year I rode almost every day I worked. At 100 miles a week, I did over 4700 miles. I'd like to keep it up and maybe push a few extra miles from time to time and get over 5000 miles this year.
I'd like to get one other person to start commuting at least once in a while.

I have no resolutions, but I do get to start the new year with a new job and a new commute, this time NOT into the sun and on a bike path almost the whole way. Oops, I hope I haven't jinxed the new job.

Happy new year and good luck to all with their resolutions.
Sadly, I've had to scale back my own resolutions. I wanted to average 110 miles a week, up from just under 100. And I wanted to increase average speed by 1 mph. However, I just learned that I have arthritis of the knee. It's too soon to set realistic goals, given this new condition. So all I can say right now is that I resolve to ride to the limit of my abilities, whatever that limit may be.

More fruits and vegetables in my diet. Also more climbing in my clubs' annual April elevation gain contest.
My wife's medical plan finally allowed me to sign up with a personal physician. I picked one who is also a sports medicine expert so he will not tell me to get off the bike every time something goes wrong. I will pick his brain about more intenssive cycling. Maybe I can get him to write a prescription for a new bike

I feel like I commute and put ass much effort into actual commuting as i can, i do my 48km daily commute 5 days per week come rain or shine or 40 plus degrees. so i got that covered.
Although saying that I could always try and fine alternative routes, and maybe put more effort in, there fore im thinking of buying a hrm to try and push myself further]
Any of you guys use a hrm for commuting and do you see a benefit
