Does the Cateye EL530 have strobe/flashing mode?

I checked the Cateye website and seems like the unit does not support the strobe/flashing mode. I know a few people own one. Does it strobe/flash? The website does not even have the .pdf up.

Thanks.

Thanks mate.

I'm wondering why they took the flashing mode off the 530 model? Anyways thanks I'll be adding this to my list of lights when I find it on sale. Has anyone used this in a downpour? Does it hold up to it's water resistance when turning on/off when it's wet?

Can't help you there, there isn't much rain in these parts.

I have the EL500 which is similar to the EL530 in the case and electronics. This light also only has on/off modes. The water proofing appears to be very good. I think it is rated to waterproof to 5M(under water).
Switching a 1W source with solid state electronics reliably requires better transistors than the lower powered lights are likely to have. I'm guessing the choice to remove the flashing mode is a cost savings.

I have the EL-500 also and it is very good in the rain. The only thing I don't like is that it isn't always secure...it's nice to be able to slide the light off the bracket when I run into the store but I have also had it slide off over a bad bump--no fun trying to retrieve it off the side of the road.
