How Much to Fix a Flat
#26
I have 2 700x23-28 tube and a 26" 175-195 tube in my bag. My bike takes the 700, but if I see a MTB
with a flat then I have that covered to. I also have a patch kit and tools. Never walk again due to flats.

Bikes: a mountain bike with a cargo box on the back and aero bars on the front. an old well-worn dahon folding bike
Around here I would expect to pay about $10 for a flat fix, tube included. Tubes are usually $4.

I've got a great bike store that charges me $8! Tube included! In Manhattan!
Anything more than $15 and you're right to roll your eyes.
But you should learn to do it. It's really a very simple procedure, and there's nothing like the feeling of accomplishing it yourself. Sounds hokey, but it's true. Now if I could just learn how to true my rims. . . .

Saddle bag, spare tube, couple of levers, some kind of inflation (pump / co2, take your pick) and you're pretty much set. Patch the tube when you get home.
