Hey Jeff, the computer was put there because I wanted it easily viewable. To me, putting it on the handle bar is like putting a car speedometer on the gear shifter. Not intuitive, to me. But that's just me.

I'll break out the Nokian Mount+Ground 160's and we'll race

That's a fun looking bike! And you have made me more impatient than ever for the arrival of my B17. That's a standard-width B17, isn't it?

I'm going to smoke you. I'm running the W106's, the studded equivalent of slicks. (Buuuzzzzzz)

LOL that is probably true! I rarely get above 12-13mph with those studded tires, and I have hit 20mph down hills only. Its not fast! But I am more secure than most cars and trucks when it gets icy out

Interesting to see others with a front carrier! I've always used a front carrier exclusively, reasoning that as the back wheel was already carrying most of my weight, I may as well add any extra weight to the front. I've even been on tour with a front only setup, and yes, it did have a negative effect on steering stability at very low speeds, although it generally has a positive effect on steering stability at all other speeds (IMO). I also like swinging my leg over and not having to clear any rear mounted load when getting on.
Thats definitely an unusual method of mounting the Speedo. I've always tried to mount mine forward of the lighting system, so I can read it at night. I don't think my eyes would be that good though - maybe a little far away for my taste.
