Wireless working with HID.
I got a new computer for my weekend road bike and I moved the specialized turbo wireless computer to my commuter. Here's the weird thing, the wireless speed transmitter's working with the HID light now. It never used to work before. The only difference I can think of is that the light is mounted upside down now so its about 5 inches away vs. 2-3 inches before. Weird.

all it takes is a little change to ge it to work. just mounting the light on the right and the computer on the left can do it too.

The reason I ask is that I've got some images of the new Wilma, as bright as your Edison. Want me to post 'em? They are on my blog, but I can repost here.

Let's see Wilma.
I wonder if Lupine knew she was married to Fred Flintstone when they decided on the name?
I did not think the new Wilma was 900 lumens, but close. All the Lupine HID's reach 900.
With 420 lumens, Wilma is already close to standard competitors H.I.D. systems at 500 lumens but there are many advantages to this LED system over standard H.I.D. systems
The USA distributor is posting in the "light selection guide. He says the new Wilma will be 730 lumens and there will be a modification kit you can get to boost it to 830.

It's call EMF. If your HID has a real bad EMF output then it can interfear with the computer. Now that it is far enough away it works fine. a low EMF will dissapate quickly so the 2 or 3 inch makes the difference.

Here are the beam shots I was sent. I did not take these, so I cannot give you any details.

and the almighty Edison:
To keep things on topic, I've never had a problem with the Wilma interfering with my wireless computer. My Arc did/does, and the big DiNottes do if they are very close to the computer.

hmmmm.
I'll have to wait and see. I should have one in about a month (Wilma, that is) and can compare it to an Arc, at least. Might have to try and get an Edison too

My Cygolite HID interfered with my Specialized computer, but when I got the Trail Tech HID, the problem went away.

With a good powerful light you don't need any accessory lights to see the computer or anything on the bike while moving if you can ride with one hand just for a few seconds.
If you want a super bright light hold a white water bottle high over the front of the headlight and aim the blinding beam down at the computer, it's close to daylight. With a bright headlight a plain hand works OK. Any light colored water bottle will work. With a white bottle, not only can you see the computer, you can check the rear cogs for chain position or anything else. You can light up the whole bike. It's beautiful. A black glove only reflects enough light to see the computer with the brightest lights of all. If you get a flat, lie your bike on it's side aimed at a white bottle for a nice camping lantern.
I made a fiber optic cable that took light from the headlight and aimed at the computer. That ran the best as it needs no power. I have two of the Sigma accessory mount bike computer lights made to go on the bars to light your computer. They work very well.
I don't use either anymore. The reflected light from the headlight is so much better it's not even close.
I watch things running beside me in the dark, or behind me, just from my headlight, but a waterbottle sends light sideways too if you want.
Of course it's much more fun to look for small lights on line and attach them to your bike or your helmet.
