AaaaaaaahhhhhHHH!!!!!!!

(yelled just as a car pulled up next to me, the passenger leaned his head out of the car and just screamed. I almost ***** my pants.)

"YOD!"

This was yelled out of a passing car passenger window a few weeks ago.

<"Yod?? What the hell is a yod???">

I looked at the car. It was mine. My wife was driving. My 16 yr. old had his head and left arm hanging out the passenger window, looking back and waving with a big grin.

<"Hmm." (mildly amused)>

When I got home I asked what he yelled.

Then I explained that, "WAY TO GO, DAD!" at 55 mph (the speed limit on that highway) from a passing car in the on-coming lane, on a two lane, narrow lane, highway, sounds like "YOD!"

Heh. I got right hooked today (no collision, but close). The guy had his window open, so I yelled at him: "WHOOOOA! YOU IDIOT!"

To avoid me, he had to steer into the left (oncoming) lane of the street he turned in to. I was thinking, boy would it have been poetic justice if a car had been coming out as he was pulling in.

I can't post here what some cavepeople have yelled at me, but the other day this old cowboy (and I do mean old COWboy) pulled up beside me at a red light, rolled down his window and yelled "you go girl!" I nearly fell off my bike.

Someone today said 'Boo' just barely enough for me to hear as I was stopped at a 4-way sign. Seemed to be a kid in the back of a sedan, so I threw up my hands and screamed 'OH GOD THE DEAD LIVE' before pulling out.

I'm sure everyone has heard someone yell "Lance Armstrong". Someone once yelled at me: "Schwinn Armstrong!"

I don't know how funny it is, but most of my cycling is commuting so the strangest thing I get yelled at me, which does seem to happen at least once a month is, "Get a job!"

Ironic since I am either going to or from my job when I hear this.

I got called George Hincapie once by a mid-teen. I was pleasantly surprised that he knows who that is.

Had a good one recently...

I was passed (all too closely, mind you) by a pick-up pulling a trailer. The truck was one of those 4 door jobbers that a lot of small contractors use. Roofers I suspect. Anyhow...

No sooner did they pass me, the truck stopped at a red light. Hanging out the window of the rear door was a young guy, probably 20, making sound effects to mimmick a 2 stroke dirt bike....he was twisting the throttle and everything. "rrrreeeeeeee....chk....rrreeeeeeeeeeee...chk....rrreeeeeeeeeeee....ting..ting...ting..ting"

Odd behaviour...very odd. How that was supposed to rub me is still a mystery.

Haven't had anything weird yelled at me yet but a few weeks ago i did have a "breaking away" moment. I was in the bike lane going along a flat when a ups truck comes besides me so i pushed harder to get into his slip stream. After he passed me a fed ex truck was right behind him and i look over and he signaled me the speed i was going. That put a big smile on my face especially since i watched breaking away for the first time a few days prior.

25 or 35, i didn't really see the first number he held up but 25 seems more realistic.

I don't have a computer either so i'm always curious. Back when i was probably 17 my aunt got a new Trek tourer with a computer on it and i topped that out at 27 on a flat.

I had a similar thing happen. A guy on a Harley was riding just slightly behind me for a while. The volume of his bike was beginning to get annoying until he pulled up next to me to tell me how fast I was going and gave me a thumbs up. A positive interaction like that with a motorist outweighs 100 negative ones.

Not from another car, but from a fellow cyclist. I was riding my fixed gear, and as he passed me he yelled "Shift!"

I have yelled the same thing. Albeit it was meant as a joke and the other rider and I were laughing.

A long time ago, riding (in Atlanta) on Peachtree Street near Ponce, a young lady on the sidewalk yelled at me: "Hey baby! You want a date?" That was awfully friendly of her.

I was just cresting a hill, and the car overtaking me started playing the theme from Rocky. It wasn't loud enough to be annoying like a horn would be.

A kid tonight yelled "you think you're so cool," which is funny because it was such a bad case of projection.

I was at a stoplight the other night and I heard some idiot behind me screaming like he was at a rave party or something. I looked back to see some stupid kid in his mom's SUV, with about 3 other kids in the car. I unclipped and walked back their car. They looked pretty uncomfortable as I motioned for them to roll the wondow down.

Me: You don't get out much do you kid?
kid's mom: (Blah blah blah something stupid)
kid: yells again thinking he's funny.
Me: You must be so proud...does he do that all the time?
Mom: ........

Light changes and kid starts hollering again as the mom drives away. Perfect example of an F-tard raising and f-tard. It is amazing how people punk down when you're standing next to their immobile vehicle.

+10,000 So many people are tough when they don't think they'll get called on it. I've seen some mighty big eyes as I tapped on people's windows after catching them at a light.
