I'll bet if you started a seeking advice thread in Alt Bikes, they would be overjoyed to help you out.

My mother bought me a "12-speed" after somebody stole my BMX 36/36 Scrambler. (Odd choice since we lived on a dirt/gravel road.) I lived on the BMX Scrambler, but I only rode the 12-speed maybe 10 times in 10 years, and it killed cycling for me for over a decade. After trying to jump it off curbs the spindly fork bowed out so much that the brakes didn't contact the rim anymore. Hated that thing.

A recumbent trike with a full fairing. Most of the time the fairing was just an extra 38 lb of fiberglass to drag around.

It's more of a time problem than an idea problem. school, work and sleep keep getting in the way. But, those guys do have some great bikes.

Bikes: This list got too long: several ‘bents, an urban utility e-bike, and a dahon D7 that my daughter has absconded with.

I would have to say my bikeE recumbant. It is not that there is anything wrong with it, it was just the wrong bike for me.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I view the Schwinn Sidewinder mountain bike my aunt dumped on me. It works, it's tough as heck, but...I HATE mountain bikes. 99% of my riding is ON-ROAD. Maybe I should sell it or something

It's not that it's a mountain bike.. it's that it has MTB handlebars and tires. I just put bullhorn bars on an MTB that I'm going to use as my main commuter bike, and I'm planning to put slicks on it too. The bike's frame and wheels are pretty light, too.
