Chased by a dog

On my way home yesterday I'm just getting ready to make a right turn and off to my left I see a black blur and that black blur was about 50 yards away and he closed in on me in a hearbeat growling and I though I was surely gonna get bit. It was a black Lab pit bull mix and he ran alongside for about 50 feet or so then peeled off so I got on the cell and called the animal control center and the dispatcher stated she would send an officer right out. It was less than 10 minutes and there the officer showed up. I thought wow that was fast so I raise my helmet to the Sumner/Puyallup animal control folks for such a quick response

I'd say a 10 minutes responce is exceptionally speedy, well beyond the "cranking it to 400 watts" equivalent. The position of Dog Catcher must be a highly contested office in the Summer/Puyallup Metro area.

Ha ha matches the description of the dog that chased me the other day. If he hadn't backed down when I yelled "NO, BAD DOG" he would've gotten a faceful of pepper spray...

Really gets the adrenaline going, doesn't it?

2 questions:

1. What exactly did the animal control officer do when they arrived?

2. I can't believe you stayed. So how long were you willing to wait around?

First she told me she was going to check out the street I had turned off and then she went over to the house where I first saw the dog and I assume checked at the other houses. I left after that. The reason I hung around was to see if they were really going to send someone and I wanted to talk to the officer in person to give a description of the animal and give them any more info they might want. I would have hung around for about 20 minutes to see if they would show up.
