Auto On or Manual...

OK here's a somewhat trival question:

Do you set your cyclocomputer for auto on or manual on?

I've in the past always set mine for manual, just so i know the actual time spent commuting. But I seem to know how long to expect the ride to take and I would like to know if my average ride speed is, without counting the time for those pesky stops.

Any which way is good for me. I just leave mine on 'auto' and let 'er rip.

I leave mine on auto. I've caught myself riding last season and near the end of the ride clued in that it was not on... this way all my kilometres are counted

I've done that a few times myself.

My computers only allow an automatic mode, so I can only ever get rolling-time counted, I do a rough clock check when I set off/get back to give me the rough overall time of a journey. I log a lot of my common rides on routeslip, too - but not all of it gets logged, so it's nice to have the computer odometer too.

My Sigma has auto, but also has a timer. On a big ride I reset the auto section, then start the timer. I get ride time and total time.
It also has a count up feature for mileage. Daily I reset the auto section for the ride, but only set mileage countup on Monday so I get the weeks ride mileage.

Yup, my computer is only auto as well. Stopped time doesn't count on the time.
