Commuting on a mtn bike in Raleigh

how easy is it to get around raleigh on a mtn bike. i will mostly be riding in the downtown region

I haven't been to Raleigh in a few years but it shouldn't be much different than most other cities.
If I can commute in Atlanta I can commute just about anywhere.
Just watch out for the crazies in their SUVs and vans.
