Stopped at a local Trek Bike Store and taked with the mechanics and they suggested:

Trek 520
Surly Cross Check
Jamis Aurora

Why not post this in the first thread?

How about starting by posting YOUR thoughts. A simple search of this messageboard, or the internet, will turn up plenty of opinions about how "we" feel about all of the bikes you have listed.

A Trek 520 is what I ride.

My top three recommendations also. I went with the Cross Check because I want to build it my way and go fixed gear.
