Foamy Gatorskin freakiness!!!!

Holy Gatorskin Batman!!!
So, I returned to my bike in the rain Thursday and the rear tire was deflated so I just threw some air into it just to see if I could limp home with out patching it, who wants to patch tubes in the rain? I pump it up to 120 (god bless you road morph mini) and the tire starts foaming like a soaped-up innner tube!!! There are holes EVERYWHERE!!! Seventy-five percent of the side wall was foaming, there must've been 14-20 holes all over it, some were a 1/4 inch long!!! The water was foaming so bad it looked like my tire was rabid!!! Needless to say, I patched the tube and road home...then the valve blew...its been a wierd, bad week for bike maintenance. So has anyone else noticed this with their Gatorskins? It was unreal to watch.
