Trail Ride Pics including Moose

I usually start around 5:00 am, so the early pics are difficult to record even w/ a flash and headlight.

My usual run includes about 12 miles of park or city trails. Here are a couple of pics from my friday ride.

I ride about 7 miles on city streets until I reach the Park Entrance.

View along the shore just as the light is bright enough.

I took this a couple of years ago mid Sept. on this same trail. I was only a few yards away with a cow moose directly behind me.

I encountered 5 additional moose along the way. I stopped for pics of all of them, using flash and headlight to record them. Alas, the pics turned out totally black. I may be able to catch a few later in the season on my ride home from work.

I think I'd steer clear of a moose!

Of course in the dark, all you see are their eyes glowing in your headlight

I don't know what I'd rather deal with, angry moose or angry cabbies.

Arcticbiker, thanks for these.

I thought you'd like to know that I share your commute stories--especially that one last week, with the beluga whales, salmon, etc.--with my friends and family here in NC. We're all extremely jealous of your commute and surroundings.
