Somebody pulled a right on red from the LTOL, in front of me (right lane) and the car next to me (center lane) one morning. The officer watching the intersection from across the street had about the same appreciation for their manouver as we both did.

About 3 weeks ago, I had a car make a fast, close -- not dangerously close, but irritatingly close -- pass only to have a motocycle officer who was standing at the side of the road about 300 yards up motion them to pull over. I think they were going to get a speeding ticket, not for a dangerous pass, but the timing was perfect.

This is such a motivating thread. However, I don't have any stories of my own (yet).

There was a bikeforums regular who used to tell a story along those lines...I don't remember who it was, and I can't seem to pull up his story on a search, but you might be remembering one of his posts.

If the original tale-teller is still around, he can correct me on the details...but it went something like this:

The bikeforums member was riding on a city street in moderate traffic, when a noisy, belligerent motorist pulled alongside and started spewing insults at him. Cyclist kept riding without comment for a while, then turned toward the guy in the car and yelled "Truck up!"

Motorist must not have heard the words accurately, because he went ballistic, leaning across into the passenger seat now as he yells, "What did you just call me you little ******? I'm gonna kick your..." SLAM! Into the back of the empty logging truck stopped at a red light.

Cyclist shrugged and kept going...but sooner or later, the cops must have arrived and given the guy hell for rear-ending a stationary truck, so the story is still on-topic.

Great stories. I can tell you as a police officer in Los Angeles, NOTHING bothered me more than cyclists getting harassed. But what equally bothered me was a peleton of club riders blowing stop signs and exceeding speed limits in school zones.
I now live in Rural Kentucky and I do most of my riding at 0500, in the dark (except for my lights). I have been riding here for 8 months and have had only one bad experience (riding with a friend of mine in the afternoon) from a couple of kids who yelled at us (not really a bad experience but the worst so far)
I have experienced nothing but courtesy from the motorists in the AM. I use a couple of lights, so I think their visibility of me is excellent. They always give me plenty of room when they pass and I try to stay as close to the shoulder as is safe, depending on road conditions. If there is oncoming traffic they wait, then they pass. So far not even a single honk.
It's a nice change, from the constant barrage in socal.

About ten years ago a car tried to run me over they chased me onto the sidewalk and even mounted the curb, fortunately I got the plate number and called the cops to report the driver. The next day there it was in police blotter, charged with reckless driving and open container of alcohol.

Wow, I just posted long-winded description here: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=342979

Basically the kid got pulled over for running a red, but it was ultimately the result of him swerving to soak me with a puddle.

I don't have any while on my bike but I do have a great one while driving my car-althought I've had a few run-ins with JAMs where I sure as hell wish there was a cop around.

Anyway, I'm coming up to a stop sign and there are about 8-9 cars in front of me when I see some jerk come flying up behind me and I know he's going to try to pass me on the right so I move over a bit to keep him from doing this so he veers out into the oncoming lane and blows by all the cars waiting and makes a left without stopping. Well, there happened to be a Sheriff's car right there who saw the whole thing. He immediately lights up the jerk and pulls him over.

I think the guy hit another car and fled the scene. Sweet sweet justice!!!
