Trouble with cameras is...
That they capture your best, worst and every movement....
Here's probably the stupidest thing I've done on my bike in a very long time. This was Thursday evening riding just having left work for the day:

I tried to time the captions to illustrate what I was actually doing. I'm usually so careful and attentive, but this was a mixture of not double checking and overload of things/environmental things that I needed to take in/watch for.
Tracks were a major concern, and because there was traffic moving in front of me, having just cleared a stray car leftover from the previous opposite light cycle, I thought I was OK.

It happens. Laugh about it and learn. You're in a city, nobody cares about your maneuver after 30 seconds... just don't die.

I don't mean to jump on you, but I have to mention it because it wasn't mentioned. But I'm extra cautious whenever I see my shadow cast like that. I kept having trouble with left hooks at this one intersection all a sudden. Couldn't figure out why until I did a u-turn and tried to see what cars were seeing. And that's when I discovered the sun was in the eyes of people going the opposite direction of my route. So just be aware that when ever you see your shadow cast long in front of you, people looking toward you have the sun in their eyes.
Oh, and those tracks must completely suck. Especially when they fork like that. Convergence of the hazards at one spot; stop light, sun, rails.

I'm glad I don't have a camera for those times
. It seems natural to do something completely idiotic when riding every so often. On the grand scale of things, yours didn't look so stupid (to me, at least). Did the white van seem to be jumping the light at all?

Heh thanks all..
gbcb, No, the van wasn't jumping the light - he was just the only guy who went forward more because I guess he didn't look/check in front as much as the others...
Live and learn, live and learn...
