AF Times article on riding to work.

For those of you who have access to a base or a friend with a subscription, the Air Force Times recently published an article on riding to work. Many bases are well suited to riding since they often provide lockers and sometimes shower facilities. You can leave your BDUs/Flight Suit and boots locked up at work and bring in the other clean clothes you need in a backpack. Some bases are even planning a 'ride to work' week.

I'd do this now if it weren't for the railroad tracks. Allowing an extra 10 to 15 minutes each day just in case there's a train makes for a long lead-time. Cars can bypass the tracks on the freeway.

Showing up 15 minutes early for duty each day might bring benefits comes EPR/OPR time.

+1 All true, I commute Daily. $4 a month for locker rental and shower facility. It's cheaper than gas for sure.

Oh I already do the 15 minutes early. With the bike its 30 minute commute +15 minutes early +15 minutes cleanup and change +15 minutes for possible train interference. Total lead time of 1:15.
