Which bike?
So I've been looking to get a new bike for doing a daily commute of about 8 miles, and some regular rides of about 20 miles 3 times a week. I will probably also be doing occasional summer tours (week long ~500 miles) I've been looking at a few different bikes, and some recommendations would be helpful.
Cannondale T800
Trek 520
Raleigh Detour Deluxe
Jamis Aurora
I would really like to keep the cost lower...especially because I'll be using it more for commuting, and the possibility of it being stolen is there. If anyone has any opinions to lend about these, or other bikes it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
-Andy.

I'd go with the Jamis Aurora (I have a Jamis Nova and
it) or the Cannondale T800. The Trek would be my next choice. The Raleigh is an entry level hybrid.

I'm a Jamis fan, too, also with a Nova (
). The Aurora would be a solid choice if you're planning to do commuting and touring. It's also not the flashiest of bikes, which is good if you're worried about theft.

.Yes, the Aurora Elite would be a great choice. It's what they used to call a Nova, but with a triple chainring, an upgraded rear derailleur, and a fork that accepts lowrider racks... it's more specifically aimed at touring than the old Nova, which was billed as a cross bike.

Excellent. The Jamis was what I was leaning towards...so this is definitely only helping my decision. I have never ridden one and am not really that familiar with the brand as there isn't an lbs within 60 miles of me that carries Jamis, but it seems it may be worth the trip to check it out.
