I work at different sites and can't commute every day. I ride the bike if I'm in 1 location all day (and not on call elsewhere) so that's only twice a week at the moment. It's great to be able to ride some days.
1. Ferntree gully: 60km round trip. Gentle uphill there, nice long downhill back, with a few steep hills each way. About 90 min each way. 2. Dandenong: 44km round trip. Prevailing tailwind and gentle downhill there, opposite back. 1 hr there, 1 1/4 back. 3. Moorabbin: 24km round trip. Pretty easy both ways. A bit over half an hour each way. |
25 miles with 16 by bike and 9 by bus
14 to 22 miles round trip. Sometimes I need to make a trip downtown to visit a satellite office. :)
54 miles round trip. But I'm only doing it twice a week right now. A lot of miles are starting to be in the dark these days. :^( (The other days of the week, it's 5 miles round trip to a vanpool stop.)
4.87 miles four times a day.
about 20 km round trip
4 miles round trip.
I do it anywhere between 1 and 4 times a day depending on my class/fun schedule. |
44 miles round trip, 3x /week. If someone I know is going home toward my house and has a truck/hatchback, I'll take the offer - usually once a week or so.

That is nothing, just 30 miles per hour. I did about 40mph average today, but, er, I was in my truck. |

Does it count as commuting if you do it once a week or less? My trip is 42.6 miles round trip, somewhat hilly. I switch between a fixed gear and old road bike.
2.2 miles RT between house and school. But its 18 mi. RT to my best friend's house, and I run that probably twice a week.
7.4 mi. RT to the supermarket, and I go there ~3x /week. |
34- 40 RT. 17 one way if I take the shortest route.
Its like 18 miles round Trip for me. Not too bad.
In the summers I wish I lived further away, in the winter, I wish I lived next door. Personally, I'd love to live much closer, for something like a couple miles. That way I wouldn't need cycling clothes. But at temperatures of 90+ in the summer and under 30 in the winter, 9 miles one way requires some clothes for the job. |
40 mi rt. Usually 4-6 days per week. 'loaded commuter' Mondays w/a weeks worth of clothing, etc. The rest of the week on a singlespeed w/a front rack. On days I need a break I'll drive or take my multi-speed commuter. Depends on how I feel.
Ride a minimum 7 miles RT daily of my 46 mile RT commute, all year. . Usually take transit most of the way in to work, and ride as much of the 23 miles home as time allows.
About 23 miles round-trip.
1.8 miles one way.
