Here are my IGH bikes.
Firstly a '56 Humber Sports now fitted with a FG four speed with dynohub. Everything works but the dynohub is very dim. Attachment 66286 Then there is my Robin Hood Sports with a regular AW. This bike is the service queue: it needs a replacement cotter, the hub adjusted and seat adjusted. Attachment 66287 My NZ made Raleigh 20 with sachs 2 speed and coaster hub. This bike is also in the service queue: it needs some grease in the headset, a new front tyre and a proper seat. Attachment 66288 My Healing Crusier with a shimano 3 speed and twist grip shifter. This is a NZ made copy of a R20. Attachment 66289 My other bikes but one, have either a derailleur or two or no gears at all... ...the only other IGH bike I have is this unidentified early fifties roadster with a AB (three speed and drum brake) hub and a Powerpak motor attached.:D This is great fun for about 15mins until the motor gets hot and loses power and you have to pedal a bike with a awkwardly placed 10kg lump attached to it. Thanks, JB. No, no construction pics. I made them from 10mm hydraulic tubing and TIGged them together because that was what I had available at the time. The hyd tubing is very easy to bend with a regular hand held tuning bender like you find at an auto parts store, but a real booger to weld (has some kind of addative to make it more ductil, I think). If I had to do it again, I`d order 3/8 4130 and braze it. There are a few threads on the "Utility Bike" forum with good ideas for DIY racks- somebody even has a link to a personal website with step by step instructions for pretty much the same type racks as mine.
OT: Anybody know why my pic disappeared? Since I`m a work and don`t have access to my hard drive, so I just linked to my post on another site (mtbr.com) and I don`t see the image here any more but it`s still there on the original site. |
