I really like the Cateye HL-EL530 that I'm using. Bright enough, self-contained, weather proof, easily removable, and four 1800 mAh, NiMH batteries last me over a month of riding to work in pre-dawn darkness.

I like my Mini Maglight LED conversion using a Lambda minipro 3W LED,
I would like a LED head for one of my surefires but can't seem to find them available
at the sites I go on.
No one would steal a $10 maglight. are there any crees or the newer LED's for maglights available?
I zip tie a piece of neoprene from a mouse pad and use a silicone bracelet to attach the maglight
or any light to the bars.

Yeah but it costs more than my bike...

+1 on the Fenix here too, and I agree about the flashing mode. I use a lower powered flasher for lit streets, and only turn on the Fenix when I actually need it to see by. Even in the lower power settings it provides plenty of light to see by. And it has the added benefit of being a regular torch too.

I'm thinking of getting a second one to attach to my helmet for night mountain biking, although I suspect one may even be enough for that.

I bought the new enduro, which has 3 cree drivers and runs for about 4.5 hrs on max. It's not too bad, the beam's a hair narrow but it's plenty bright and light. A little smaller than a redbull can.

Over 50 hours in low mode is awesome. Plenty of light for reading outdoors. Best camping companion ever. It is an amazing product. I'm not often delighted by a purchase, but the fenix is one of the handiest gadgets ever.
