Which LBS did you buy it from? Normally they go for $45bux. I'd like to get them for $37.

I used a set of Nimbus Armadillo tires for a while, but my biggest gripe with them was that the tread had begun to crack and separate from the casing after about 2,000 miles. After the tread started gradually peeling off, I got tons of flats. I should note that the tread itself had not worn much; it was simply coming off (gradually) from the casing.

I've read that many other people have the tread separation experience with them as well. I otherwise liked them, but am scared to go back for fear of this.

Bikes: Miyata 618 GT, Marinoni, Kestral 200, Soma double cross 2002 Trek 5200, KHS Flite, Koga Miyata, Schwinn Spitfire 5, Mondia Special, Univega Alpina, Miyata team Ti, Santa Cruz Highball, Waterford rs11

This is the first flat since the one that started this thread. 2.5 years and 4 to 5k miles on 'em. I think I'm due for some new ones.

T-boned it pretty good. I had one go all the way through the rim. I get more miles between flats with my Armadilos than my Gatorskins.

in the 70's I commuted from Berkeley to 14th St. Oakland, rode on the popular skin wall tires at the time. Got about a flat a month. With a regular frame pump I could change a flat in about 4minutes.
