Arkel Tail Rider Question
I'm looking at the Arkel Tail Rider, and am wondering if it is possible to hold a laptop (A regular MacBook) and a notebook or two in it. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm looking for the smallest bag possible, preferably a trunk bag, to carry my laptop and a few books back and forth with me from class.
Thanks for your help.

For your laptop, you'll need panniers, a backpack, or my fav, a bum pack.

Nope. A MacBook won't fit in a Tailrider. I can barely fit library books in mine.

A whole bunch of PDA's will fit.
I love my Tailrider but it doesn't fit on my RANS Tailwind's rack because the sprint braces are in the way.

So what do you fit in there?
Returning to my original, secondary question: What would be a good trunk bag option for a laptop/books? I like the tailrider because it's nice and tucked behind you, as opposed to sticking out on the side like panniers. Anyone know of anything else like this?

A trunk is not really a good idea for a laptop because it will be too jarring.
Some panniers like the Arkel Commuter have suspended pockets meant for keeping the laptop secure and protected.
I use my tailrider for tools, p&s camera, tube, extra sunglasses, snacks, etc. You could even stuff an extra shirt or a sweater in their if you wanted.

Let's see... In the non-driveside outer pocket are my sunglasses, keys, change and a spare geek strap. In the driveside outer pocket are my camera, flash drive, and comb.
In the front of the interior section: Spare tube, multi-tool, patch kit, tire levers, emergency money, and two to four granola bars and two sandwiches.
In the rear of the interior section: A library book, two apples, two oranges, work shirt and U-lock.
Work pants are rolled up and ride on top under the load straps.

This 'might' work, depending on the size of the laptop.
