Riding in Tevas? I mangled my feet riding BMX bikes in sandals and barefoot as a kid. Dragging the tops of your feet and toes on cement or asphalt after slipping off of pedals ain't fun. Closed-toe shoes only for me when cycling.

Where are the ex-BMX racers and dirt jumpers? Riding home with a trail of dried blood running from a couple of holes in your shin was a rite of passage. Damned Crupi pedals.
