One of the best commutes ever.
This morning on my way to work, there was road construction. The road crews are adding "rumble bars" on the side of the road. It's a 2 lane highway with a speed limit of 60 mph. Everyone was having to wait for the pilot car to come and allow them through the construction zone. I pulled up and was prepared to wait like everyone else, but the construction worker waved me through because I was on a bike. I got to work before the pilot car even came into sight and I had the whole side of the road to myself. Then, on the way home for lunch I realised that with all the construction, they had swept the shoulder, so it is nice and smooth. I got special treatment, added rumble bars for saftey, and a swept shoulder to ride on. Couldn't have been much better.
