Good price for Tricross Expert

Can some one here tell me what a good price is for an 08 Tricross Expert? Do the lbs have much wiggle room on their pricing?

2009's are on the way . I purchcased a new 2007 in Oct 2007 for $800.00 off list.
Although it was a Roubaix comp. List price was $2200.00
A friend of mine in the business told me dealer pays about half of retail for the bikes.

I know the MSRP for the Tricross Expert is $2700. From what I understand, there isn't much of a profit margin in bicycles (LBSes make their profit from repairs, and accessories). I'd say keep an eye on Craigslist and eBay.

Wiggle room

If the dealer has a large inventory of these bikes he will negotiate. If he only has one or a few he may not.
But there is a substantial markup from dealer cost to list price.

Well I don't feel to bad based on what you fellas are saying. I put an 08 Tricross Expert on lay away for 1950$ with 100$ "Bike Bucks" from the lbs for accessories.

The bike was purchased then returned 1 day later. The fellas wife went ballistic. The lbs says full warranty is still valid. I was just curious. A die hard road biking friend said it was to much for "a used bike".....Thanx for the replies fellas!

What size or you looking for? I have a 52cm Fuji Cross Pro that I am about to put up in the for sale section and ebay. Super nice frame and light for what it is.

I think you made a good buy and it is really not used if returned in one day. Full warranty etc.

Thanx Danolink. After looking at bikes pretty hard for about 3 months. The Tricross was what I wanted. Had no Idea I would find a new Expert cheaper than a Comp.

$1950 is a good price for that bike IMHO. Someone probably test rode your roadie friend's bike a few times before he bought it as well.

I picked one up almost two months ago new and have put about 1,100 miles commuting on it so far. It has been a very comfortable bike and very good for commuting full-time. I ended up switching out the stock seat for the comfort of my Brooks saddle (I don't any lycra shorts to make the stock seat comfortable). Smooth roads, very rough roads, and dirt paths...it has done great over all of them.

cradduck, we think alike. When my Tricross comes out of lay away the first thing I will change will be the seat. With a B17!!

At first when I put a B17 on my Tricross, I felt so Fred. Now, best bike upgrade I've ever done.
