Bikes: A blue one, a green one, a purple one, a black one, and a red one!

First commute

I did my first bike commute in more than 6 years this morning.

Took a couple of weekends to pre-ride various routes, so I have a carpetbag full of 'em now! Most are between 15 and 20 miles. The ride in was great. I chose the 17 mile route for this morning. 38 degrees, and dark! But that hour and twenty minute ride reminded me why I commuted in the past. It's nice to once again use a bike as something other than a toy!

Peace

Just makes my mouth water, remembering the adventure of carving out my first routes. When I think about it, there are a lot of places I've been around here on my bicycle.

I have taken many various routes in the past. Sometimes, when go past some of these old routes, I remember what it was like when I used to ride them more often. And there's nothing stopping me from trying new routes, even though it would mean taking some detours. It just adds to the experience, especially reading others' posts about it.

Welcome back, Trailhound!
