Saw a Guy With a Long Haul Trucker

So there I was in the bar, getting a good buzz on, then all of a sudden I see a road bike pulling up in the back. The owner admits it's a road bike...when I ask him further he says it's a touring bike...when I press him further and mention "long haul trucker" he says "yeah that's it!" and is amazed there's somebody that knows something about bikes at the bar...lol I tell him he's insane to leave a $800+ bike sitting out in the back unlocked and he says nobody knows it's worth that in this town...we go out back...he's got a Brooks on it! I'm drooling all over this guy's bike, and there's a guy hanging around back there that hasn't even been in the bar, lol. It was a good day...funny thing, me and the guy have the same first name, lol. First time I've seen a Surly bike in person and I thought it was pretty...He had one of those dutch style locks on it that locked the rear tire...that's it. He said nobody would bother to lift it up to steal it in this town, lol.

For some reason, I kept reading, "So there I was in the car, getting a good buzz on..."

You know, I was freakin out a little wondering if the story was leading into, "Then we both got a motel room where he took off his shirt, exposing his bare chest..etc"... but then I realized this wasn't the ROADIE forum.

Those Roadies have a subculture all their own.

It's funny because it's true.

It would never be a Surly in the road forum though. The story would start out with, "I was in GNC shopping for energy gels when a young man in full Team CSC kit pulled up on his Cervelo Soloist..."
