bikes similar to LHT
I'm considering a LHT for basic commuting and long weekend rides. Currently I'm thinking about a wald 137 basket up front with a lemolo basket bag and a Chrome backbone bag when I need to haul stuff. I'll also add a rear rack with a big wald basket on back (I'll throw the chrome bag in there at times) and maybe arkel basket bag for when I really need to carry a load.
My question is this, what other bikes should I consider?

Rivendell Atlantis. If you've got a lot of money. It's basically the same as the LHT from what I've been told.

I saw them at Interbike, they were really nice guys. if I didn't already have a Rivendell, I'd look at thier bikes.

No, I'm not sure. But I really want somewhere to put my keys, wallet, phone, and other essentials. I'd like it in a place I can get too on the bike during a long ride. I really like this concept https://lemolobags.wordpress.com/2007...o-basket-bags/

Kogswell is the closest to the Surley LHT in terms of its capabilities for touring. But do you really need a touring bike for commuting? A Casseroll or Smoothie might be closer to your needs if you don't intend to load up your bike with panniers and huge tires.

IMO I think you're spot on. I'm waiting for my Wald 137 (the littler one) to show up. Throw your lunch, coffee thermos, digital camera with a pelican case, cell phone, wallet, pocket change, receipts.... and the list goes on. With the smaller one you can't over load it unless you go out of your way to. Some of the larges ones are too heavy when they're empty! But as for the 137, or 139. Or most of any Wald products, you really can't go wrong.
