A commuting beer?
A local micro-brewery has design a beer to help support our area to become more bike friendly and help in fund raising.

Hmm, why bother with welding on rings? Parking meters always seemed to be perfect bike locking points to me...around here I wish they'd install parking meters (or bike racks, hehehee) so I have something to lock to.
I guess if people want the rings, that's pretty cool they're doing that, though.

Those rings sound like a great idea! I wish they would install some here. All of the old style parking meters with the "head" that you would put the money into and set the timer have been taken off and are just blank poles to mark the spots with machines spread around that you put your money in and print out a receipt to put on your dash. So these poles are pretty useless for locking bikes to since you could just lift it off.

Definitely a good idea for towns where the meters have been "Cool Hand Luked" after installation of them computerized one-per-block kiosks!
Hopefully my town does that with them if we ever get the kiosks.
Seems like the big city to the south of me removed their old meters pole and all. There's still a fair amount of bike parking down there, however.

Bikes: Old Centurion Accordo (in the process of being SS'ed), Cannondale Quick 5 (racks/panniers/fenders, utility bike), Trek XO1 (fun/fast/main ride)
Craft (as in, produced by small breweries who actually design their recipes to have flavor) beer and cycling/running just seem to go together.
I would assume that a beer called "Rusty Chain" would appropriately be an American Brown Ale style...

I've actually seen this enforced here in Columbus, OH. Not often, but on occasion.
